By accessing or using Preceptor.Network ("the Platform"), operated by The Data Design Group, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
Preceptor.Network is a clinical placement matching platform that connects healthcare students with licensed preceptors. The Platform is intended for use by healthcare professionals and students located in and licensed within the United States. The Platform facilitates the match and introduction between students and preceptors based on program-specific clinical requirements including credential type, population focus, care model, geographic proximity, and scheduling compatibility.
Preceptor.Network does not employ, supervise, credential, or endorse any preceptor or student. The Platform's role is limited to:
Once a match is made and contact details are exchanged, the clinical relationship is between the student, the preceptor, and the student's academic program. This includes but is not limited to any Match Credits, Preceptor Reviews, or any other communication made between the student, the preceptor, and/or the student's academic program through our communication services. Preceptor.Network is not a party to the clinical placement agreement.
You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
Students pay a one-time $10 match fee per preceptor request. Students are responsible for meeting all clinical requirements set by their academic program and clinical site. Students should independently verify preceptor credentials with their state board of nursing before beginning any clinical rotation.
Preceptor accounts are free. Preceptors may optionally charge a precepting fee directly to students; such fees are between the preceptor and student and are not processed by Preceptor.Network. Preceptors may optionally activate Privacy Messaging for a one-time $50 fee. Preceptors represent that they hold a valid, unrestricted license in the state(s) where they practice.
School coordinators may use the Platform to manage program requirements, clinical placements, and student matching. Schools are responsible for verifying that matched preceptors meet their program's accreditation requirements.
All payments are processed through Stripe. Preceptor.Network does not store credit card information.
A $10 match fee is charged at the time a student requests a preceptor. This fee covers the administrative cost of facilitating the match, exchanging contact information between the student and preceptor, and supporting the continued operation and development of the Platform.
If a match does not work out — for example, if the preceptor cancels, becomes unavailable, or the placement cannot proceed for reasons outside the student's control — the student will receive a $10 match credit applied to their Preceptor.Network account. This credit can be used toward the match fee for their next preceptor request.
Match credits:
Match fees are not refundable and no credit is issued when:
The Privacy Messaging fee ($50) is a one-time, non-refundable activation charge that provides a preceptor with a permanent masked email alias.
Preceptor.Network provides license and credential information for preceptors sourced from publicly available data, including:
Where license data is displayed, Preceptor.Network shows the date the information was last retrieved from each source and the source name, so users can assess the freshness of the data. However:
Preceptor.Network does not guarantee the accuracy, currency, completeness, or validity of any license or credential information displayed on the Platform. License data can change at any time (renewals, expirations, disciplinary actions) and there may be a delay between a change at the state board level and its reflection on the Platform.
Students, schools, and clinical sites are solely responsible for independently verifying preceptor credentials with the appropriate state board of nursing before beginning any clinical placement. Preceptor.Network provides verification deep-links to each state's official license lookup page to facilitate this process, but the verification itself is the user's responsibility.
The optional Privacy Messaging feature provides preceptors with a masked email alias. Messages sent through the Platform are stored on our servers. We do not sell or share message content with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.
