Honest assessment

Where Preceptor.Network is genuinely strong

  • $10 vs $1,000+. If your search is straightforward, the price difference is real money in your pocket.
  • Matching by your school program's actual clinical rules — credential, role, population focus, setting — not just specialty buckets.
  • Full preceptor pool is browsable with reviews; no black-box matching.
  • Free for preceptors, which means a much larger, more current preceptor pool to match against.

Where NPHub is genuinely strong

  • Real concierge service — they handle outreach, paperwork, and coordination so the student doesn't have to.
  • Nine years in market with thousands of completed placements; the operational machinery is mature.
  • "100% Refund & Replacement" promise gives risk-averse students peace of mind.
  • Right product for students who would rather pay than spend 20+ hours searching, vetting, and chasing paperwork.

Which model fits you?

Choose Preceptor.Network if… you're willing to drive your own search with a structured matcher, you want to keep the $1,000+ in your pocket, you trust your school's clinical coordinator on paperwork, or you want to see the actual preceptor pool with reviews before committing.
Choose NPHub if… you want to outsource the entire placement search, you're willing to pay $1,000+ for that, you don't want to coordinate paperwork yourself, or you've already exhausted your own network and need full-service help.

Frequently asked

Is NPHub a scam?
No. NPHub is a legitimate, long-running paid placement company with thousands of completed placements and a refund policy. The reason students often ask is that the price tag is high relative to what students expect to pay — but the service itself is real.
Why is NPHub so much more expensive than Preceptor.Network?
Because NPHub is a different product. NPHub is full-service: they do the searching, the preceptor outreach, the paperwork, and the credential coordination on the student's behalf. Preceptor.Network is self-serve: we give the student a structured matcher built from their school's program rules and let them drive the request. Both have a place — the comparison is which model fits the student.
Does Preceptor.Network help with paperwork at all?
Not the way NPHub does. We don't fill out school clinical agreements, broker malpractice coverage, or manage hospital onboarding. Those happen between the student, the preceptor, and the school's clinical coordinator — same as they would if the student found the preceptor on their own. What we replace is the search.
If NPHub guarantees placement, why not just go with them?
Some students do, and for some students that's the right answer. The tradeoff is that the guarantee is priced in. A typical 250-hour NPHub rotation runs into the low thousands of dollars before fees. If you'd rather keep that money and drive the search yourself, Preceptor.Network is built for that.
How do I know your pricing claims about NPHub are accurate?
Every dollar figure in the table above links to NPHub's own published pricing page, dated as of May 2026. If their pricing changes, we update this page. If you find a discrepancy, email support@preceptor.network and we'll fix it within 24 hours.
